What is the difference between hardwood and laminate?
Hardwood flooring is made from one plank and is solid all the way through, with no gluing Laminate is a high - density base with a photographic image of a wood plank, sealed with an acrylic lacquer. Laminate floors contain no wood.
What is the difference between unfinished floors or prefinished floors?
Unfinished floors come unstained and can be finished to match surrounding floors. Prefinished floors are stained and sealed by the manufacturer.
Can I install hardwood flooring in my basement?
it is highly recommended that you do not install hardwood floor in any area below ground level or any area where there is a high moisture level such as bathrooms. The moisture will cause the floor to buckle or crack. however Laminated can be installed in these areas.
How do I keep my hardwood floors clean?
Vacuuming with a soft brush attachment, sweeping and dry mopping with a product like a Swiffer are all easy ways to keep your hardwood floors clean.
Will my hardwood floors have color variations?
Yes hardwood flooring is a natural wood product, therefore color variations will naturally occur. if you choose a floor with a lower grade of wood, the color variations will be greater.
